Celebrate Earth Day and Electric Transportation with FFL and BED
We invite the community to join our BED team on Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22 from 10am to 2pm at the New North End Branch of the Fletcher Free Library at Ethan Allen Shopping Center. We will be set up in the parking lot in front of the NNE Branch with BED electric fleet vehicles, including a Ford F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E, and more. Come on over and check out these EVs, learn about BED rebates for EVs, and enjoy FFL’s selection of books on energy, the environment, and electrification.
Thank a Lineworker
On April 18, we will celebrate National Lineworker Appreciation Day. BED greatly appreciates the dedication and hard work of our lineworkers, out in the community rain, shine, or snow, to keep the lights on. As we electrify more of our heating and transportation needs with EVs and heat pumps, upgrading and maintaining our grid become even more critical, and we know our customers value reliability. To our lineworkers: thank you; we appreciate you every day!
Go Electric and Save Money with BED Rebates
- EVs: BED’s boosted electric vehicle (EV) rebates that help offset the expiration of the federal tax credit for EV purchases are still available. EV rebates on the purchase or lease of new EVs start at $5,000 for new all-electric vehicles and $2,000 for new plug-in hybrid vehicles and increase for income-qualified and high-mileage drivers. These enhanced incentives will remain available through the end of 2026 or as long as incentive funds remain, whichever comes first, to make EV purchases as affordable as possible.
- EV Chargers: rebates for workplace/retail, as well as multi-family affordable housing and income eligible.
- E-Bicycles: rebates up to $600; enhanced for low-income customers up to $850.
- E-Mowers: rebates for residential push lawnmowers; enhanced for low-income customers.
- Heat Pumps: rebates up to 75% of installed cost on ductless mini-split heat pumps.
- Heat Pump Water Heaters: $800 rebates; enhanced for low-income customers to $1,200.
In addition to the above rebates, be sure to consider our rebates for air purifiers, Energy Star certified dehumidifiers, window air conditioners, freezers, pool pumps, induction cooktops, E-chainsaws, E-forklifts, E-commercial lawnmowers, and E-motorcycles. Mark Your Calendars for Customer Appreciation Nights at the Ballpark
BED will be at Centennial Field to cheer on our Vermont Lake Monsters on June 9 and July 28, sharing advice about taking steps along the path to Net Zero Energy and giving away baseball caps and other BED swag. More details to follow in next month’s issue.
Happy Spring!
