2024 Net Zero Energy Awards Nomination Form

At this year’s Burlington Electric Department Net Zero Energy Festival, we will be awarding one Burlington resident or organization (non-profit or business) that does work in the Burlington community, with the Burlington Electric Department Net Zero Energy Awards! To be eligible for the Award, an individual or organization has to have taken steps to support the City’s Net Zero Energy Roadmap implementation. The Roadmap goal is to reduce and eliminate fossil fuel use in the ground transportation and thermal/buildings sectors.

The awardees will be nominated by the community through a nomination process. Nominations close Friday, August 23, 2024.

Eligibility Requirements

The individual Burlington Electric Department Net Zero Energy Award is intended to recognize a community member who has gone above and beyond in supporting the City’s Net Zero Energy Roadmap goal. Elected officials and BED employees will not be eligible. Only nominations related to the City’s Net Zero Energy Roadmap goals of reducing fossil fuel use in the ground transportation and buildings/thermal sectors will be considered for voting purposes.

Explain in four sentences or fewer why your nominee deserves this award and how their work has reduced fossil fuel use in their sector.
