To be eligible for the Award, an individual or organization has to have taken steps to support the City’s Net Zero Energy Roadmap implementation. The Roadmap goal is to reduce and eliminate fossil fuel use in the ground transportation and thermal/buildings sectors.

The awardees will be nominated by the community through a nomination process.

Eligibility Requirements

The individual Burlington Electric Department Net Zero Energy Award is intended to recognize a community member or organization who has gone above and beyond in supporting the City’s Net Zero Energy Roadmap goal. Elected officials and BED employees will not be eligible. Only nominations related to the City’s Net Zero Energy Roadmap goals of reducing fossil fuel use in the ground transportation and buildings/thermal sectors will be considered for voting purposes.
