Summary

This project involves the complete removal and reconstruction of both live bottom
assemblies, which serve as integral material handling components in the biomass fuel
system. The rebuild is necessary to restore structural integrity and to improve material flow
reliability.
All necessary materials, including structural steel, stainless wear plates, and associated
fasteners, have already been procured and are staged on-site.
B. Scope of Work
After evaluation of all bids, BED will select a single bid and its associated scope of work. The
Selected contractor will be responsible for:
Full disassembly and removal of the existing north and south live bottom systems.
The Vendor will be responsible for sourcing crane for removal and installation of rods.
Cleaning and preparation of the rod troughs.
Inspection and replacement of bearings.
Removal and replacement of stainless-steel wear floor plates.
Reinstallation and alignment of all live bottom structural and mechanical elements.
Ensuring the rebuild conforms precisely to all dimensions and tolerances as outlined in
the supplied engineering drawings.
Burlington Electric Department will be responsible for disposal of all materials
removed.
Tools, consumables and safety equipment will be supplied by vendor.
Work must be 100% completed by November 9th, 2025. Any time extensions must be
approved in writing by the department prior to the initial completion date.
All changes to the job scope must be approved in writing by the Department before
work is completed.
